Does article marketing for MLM work?  It sure does and is one of the best ways to generate leads for your business that will cost you our favorite 4 letter word, f-r-e-e!

Article marketing, and sometimes called “bum marketing” because even a bum with no money could use this strategy to generate traffic and maybe even sales, is one of those consistent methods that have been generating free traffic for years and years.

These directories have a great deal of traffic from people doing research and from organic search engine traffic. They have a very high authority and receive extremely good search engine rankings for even some highly competitive keywords. You can use this to your benefit by writing 400 word articles strongly focused around a particular keyword.

Optimizing your article means you should be putting the target keyword in the title, in the first paragraph and making sure it is also included in your resource box (bio box).  There was a time when sprinkling your keyword throughout your article was the way to go.  Latent Semantic Indexing, other known as “LSI”, is what will have your article ranked appropriately. Too many repetitions of the keyword could lead to your article being rejected.

At the bottom of your article, you can include a little resource box which acts as the entrance way to your website.   This is aimed at getting you free traffic. The other big advantage is that it has SEO benefits as well so you are killing two birds with one stone.

If you are using article marketing to generate free traffic then your resource box is incredibly important and you should make certain that there is a very strong call to action in there (that means you make people want to click it). Simply typing “This article was written by John Doe who is a network marketing expert” is not going to attract many visitors to click on your link.  It is good for SEO but not for driving free traffic.  A more suitable sentence would be “Not receiving laser targeting leads to your website everyday?  Stop leaving money on the table and head over now to http://OnlineMLMLeadFormula.com to learn how to drive massive traffic to your website on auto-pilot!”  That link is more likely to get clicked.

When you post a link for your MLM social networking, you will often find that you have a very high click through rate compared to if you paid for advertising on the very same site.  Why is this?

The simple reason is that people generally dislike being sold something or advertised to. They are much more inclined to take the advice of a friend who recommends something to them while social networking.

When knowing this and posting a link on your social network, you will experience a high click through rate because you are recommending something to your friends. With this in mind, it is very important that you do not post links to sites which would be of no interest to anyone outside your niche because even your friends will stop clicking on your links.

One more word of advise is to make sure that you are cautious when posting certain type of websites on your profile. For example, unless you are actually an internet network marketer, telling your friends to visit your site about learning how to attract 20 – 30 leads per day to their business would be likely to result in skepticism because why would they visit your site when you are not showing that you are qualified to do so.

There are targeted social networking sites for different niches.  Also, there are niches inside of the niche of network marketing.  When signing up for these social sites and providing valuable content on a regular basis, you will soon see a nice amount of traffic to your website.

In conclusion, one thing to always keep in mind is to never spam your friends with your links and always put your friends first on the social networks before posting your links. I do not think your Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn friends are really going to be attracted about the new site that has to do with your network marketing company especially if they know you jump from one company to the next all the time.  Gaining trust is extremely important on the social networks.
